| Minutes away on the metrorail from Washington's monuments and museums, the Catholic University of America (CUA), founded in 1887, combines the peace and quiet of a campus atmosphere with the excitement of a large cosmopolitan city- the capital of the United States of America.
The Intensive English Program (IEP) was established in 1983 for undergraduate and graduate international students whose application to an academic program needs the support of further training in English. After English studies, or concurrently with them, many of our students pursue an academic degree at CUA; other students return to their home countries and put to use the skills and knowledge acquired in IEP. Schedule and dates We offer a nine-week session during the summer and a concurrent six-week session. In summer 2005, the dates of our nine-week session are June 1- July 30. The six-week session dates are June 1- July 6. Instruction is at least 20 hours per week. Tuition Course Listings Course listings are now available on line. Please click here. Class size The average class size is 12, which allows for a lot of individual instructional attention and close monitoring of your progress. I-20 Forms Applicants requesting an I-20 form for an F-1 visa must fill out the Financial Support Information part of the Application Form and send a letter of financial support accompanied by a bank statement, in addition to providing the items listed above. Applicants provisionally admitted to another program or department at CUA, who have an I-20 from that program, must only fill out the Application Form and pay the application fee at least one week before the beginning of the semester/session. Applicants already enrolled in another program or department at CUA, who plan to take English classes on a part-time basis, must fill out the Application Form and hand it in at registration time.
